The Data Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing robust data storage solutions and overseeing database administration. This role requires a strategic thinker who can evaluate and select appropriate technology standards, tools, products, and solutions to meet the organization's data needs. SKILLS

Data Storage and Database Administration:

o Design and implement effective data storage solutions.

o Manage and optimize database systems to ensure high performance and reliability.

Technology Evaluation and Integration:

o Assess and recommend database technologies to fit the technical and business use case.

o Design data models, data flow diagrams, and database schemas to optimize data storage and retrieval.

o Stay updated with latest data technology trends and integrate new technologies into existing data systems, ensuring compatibility and performance.

Database Management and Optimization:

o Oversee the implementation and maintenance of database systems.

o Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies.

o Implement data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.

Data Governance and Compliance:

o Establish and enforce data governance policies leveraging Azure Policy and Azure Security Center.

o Ensure compliance with data protection regulations using Azure's compliance tools and features.

o Implement data quality and lifecycle management practices using Azure Data Factory and Azure Purview.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:

o Work with business leaders, data scientists, and IT teams to understand and address data needs.

o Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

o Communicate complex Azure data architecture concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Project Leadership and Execution:

o Lead Azure data architecture projects from design through implementation.

o Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets specific to Azure deployments.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in Technology Architecture and database management including hybrid and cloud environments.

  • 5+ years of Database Administrator (DBA) experience

  • Proven experience in data architecture and database management, specifically with Azure SQL databases.

  • Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate.

  • Database Skills: Proficiency in Azure SQL, Azure MI, NoSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, data marts, and distributed databases.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Stream Analytics, and other Azure services.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing database operations.

Preferred Technology Skills: Information Systems or Systems Engineering

  • Four - five years of experience in a technical consulting, solution architect, or systems engineering role which includes experience with building large-scale architecture solutions, including security concerns, high availability methods, multiple platforms, hardware considerations, network design, monitoring solutions, virtualization, performance, capacity planning, and information management practices.

  • Experience with building, delivering, and managing Cloud IaaS and SaaS environments.

  • Excellent understanding of multi-tier architecture: web servers, caching, application server, load balancers and storage.

  • Ability to display a demonstrated track record in building and setting architecture strategies.

  • Authentication & Authorization technologies

  • Enterprise continuous integration and engineering principles (continuous testing)

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in the Healthcare industry, with preference for experience with Healthcare Payers.

Work-at-home requirements

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position is $119,985 - $169,135 USD.
