Role

PDW is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our expanding Project Engineering department. This team is pivotal in the successful development and integration of PDW products, ensuring compliance with all system-level requirements and the high-quality standards for which PDW is recognized.

In this role, Project Engineers (PEs) will be responsible for maintaining an accurate MS Project that effectively represents and translates all technical aspects of their programs. They will be fully engaged in system-level integration, issue resolution, and root cause analysis. Clear communication regarding schedule milestones and their impacts to key stakeholders and subcontractors is essential.

Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with core engineering to drive the design, integration, and testing of PDW products at the system level, ensuring compliance with system requirements and maintaining high reliability standards
  • Foster effective communication across departments to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify and communicate essential programmatic tasks to facilitate on-time project delivery
  • Facilitate and lead investigations into root cause for system-level and multidisciplinary issues, driving effective solutions to enhance product performance
  • Maintain and communicate a detailed project schedule to drive programs toward successful completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.


Requirements


  • 3 or more years of project engineering experience with minimum of 3 years of hands on system
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
  • Proficiency in design principles and engineering design processes
  • Familiar with relevant software and other methodologies that aid in project execution
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, assess risks, and develop effective solutions
  • Ability to convey complex technical information clearly and simply to non-technical stakeholders
  • A creative mindset for processes and solutions which can demonstrate their ability to think outside the box
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.


Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift/carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Must be physically capable of walking between office and production areas and attending events or meetings off-site as needed.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional work in a manufacturing setting. It requires the use of standard office equipment and systems. This role involves cross-departmental collaboration and both independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard work hours for this position are 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or off-hour work as business needs arise.

ITAR Requirement

In compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
