Overview

MRI Technologist - Weekend

  • Location: Javon Bea Hospital
  • Pay Range: $39.58 - $59.37
  • Benefits Eligible: Yes
  • Shifts: 2 twelve hour shifts
  • Hours per week: 24

Shift differential for qualifying shifts (PM shift 15% of base pay, up to $4.50 per hour / Night shift 20% of base pay, up to $6.00/hour)

Job Duties:

  • Performs procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Prepares patient for procedures
  • Maintains knowledge of current MRI safety practices and utilizes such as part of daily practice. Assumes responsibility for persons entering Zones I-IV.
  • Provides patient instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Applies principles and policies of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others.
  • Reviews patients' clinical history ensuring that appropriate scan is ordered and labs are within range- reviewing with radiologist and/or provider as necessary.
  • Selects and operates the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program
  • ARRT (MR) if completed the MRI Primary pathway required upon hire OR
  • ARRT, (R) with requirement to obtain the MR Credential within 2 years of hire
  • ARMRIT Credential required upon hire if credentialed through ARMRIT
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
