| Essential Job Duties |
Duties Include:
- Performs cultivation of archaea and bacteria from both human- and rumen-associated samples.
- Performs routine technical laboratory procedures in molecular biology and microbiology that includes but not limited to PCR, flow cytometry, and extractions of DNA, RNA, and protein.
- Maintains laboratory notebooks, records, and analyzes experimental data.
- Assists in the preparation of laboratory reports and manuscripts.
- Assists in operating and maintaining anaerobic chambers, biosafety cabinets, flow cytometer, plate readers, spectrophotometers, and other laboratory equipment as needed.
- Assists in training users of shared equipment located in the laboratory.
- Follows established procedures and properly record results.
- Helps with laboratory management.
