As an Accountant at Bright Horizons, you will be primarily responsible for the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements for the respective area of the business that you support. You will take part in ensuring the month end P&L and Balance Sheet transactions are posted timely and will support other areas of the business with related queries. At times you may be asked to speak with external parties, such as clients, and require attention to detail, timeliness, and professionalism. You will receive support from your manager and team as you master the skills to be a successful Accountant at Bright Horizons.

This is a Remote position available in the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Timely and accurate posting of accounting transactions as it pertains to the area of the business you support

  • Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations, with careful attention to ensuring fluctuations and balances are appropriate

  • Review operating results with senior management, including variances to budget and forecast where necessary

  • Identify and escalate any risks and opportunities as you become aware of them

  • Collaborate and communicate with the wider finance team members

  • Evidence preventative and detective controls to management

  • Report financial information to the business and support with follow up queries

  • Work professionally as a trusted partner to internal and external customers

  • Keep up to date with organizational changes, financial regulations, and the marketplace

  • Respond timely and appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as required

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, other related field or 2 years experience in an Accounting role in lieu of degree

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in Accounting or other financial department roles

Additional Job Requirements:
  • Experience in Month end Accounting

  • Balance Sheet experience

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills

  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Comfort with ERP systems

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - 70,000 annually The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

Also, depending on hire date and subject to applicable eligibility requirements and accrual schedules, new employees in this role receive up to: 9 paid holidays annually; 40 hours of sick time per year based on full-time schedule, and 80 hours of vacation time per year based on full-time schedule(vacation time may be used for sick leave purposes under any applicable state or local sick or safe time law).
