Technical Lead

Riverside Research's Integrated Commercial Solutions group is seeking a Technical Lead to oversee and drive the evaluation, onboarding, and integration of commercial imagery and data into the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) ecosystem. This role requires a strong leader who can manage teams, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and drive strategic improvements in supplier onboarding and data integration processes. The Integrated Commercial Solutions group operates a broad portfolio of defense innovation and research programs focused on discovering, evaluating, and integrating emerging commercial capabilities to deliver mission-critical impact at speed and scale. In this role, you will provide direct leadership and oversight within NGA's Commercial Operations Group, managing a team responsible for the independent verification and validation of commercial imagery, data, and analytical products. This position requires a blend of leadership, project management, and technical expertise to successfully drive NGA's adoption of commercial GEOINT products.

This position is located onsite in Springfield, VA at the NGA Washington Campus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new products and suppliers, ensuring all necessary documentation and data are accurately collected and integrated
• Provide strategic leadership to a team of imagery analysts and scientists performing independent verification and validation of commercial imagery, data, analytics, and vendor products
• Oversee and coordinate cross-functional teams, including NGA stakeholders, internal engineering, operations, and product management, to drive smooth supplier integration and resolve challenges efficiently
• Serve as the primary liaison between commercial suppliers and internal teams, addressing technical and operational issues while ensuring a seamless onboarding experience
• Guide and mentor team members in the application of remote sensing systems and EO/SAR imagery processing, ensuring high standards of data quality and interpretation
• Support and oversee the development of automation scripts and data ingestion processes using Python to enhance efficiency and consistency
• Develop and implement data standardization policies, including maintaining schemas to ensure consistency across systems and cloud enclaves
• Drive process improvements by identifying and implementing best practices for supplier onboarding and data integration
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including onboarding procedures, technical guidelines, and supplier engagement records

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field
• A minimum of 8 years of related experience including leading projects or overseeing related technical initiatives with a bachelor's degree, 6 years with a master's degree, or 3 years with a PhD required
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while effectively delivering against requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with AWS cloud processing and S3 storage
• Experience with EO/SAR imagery processing
• Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
• M.S. or Ph.D. degree
• Project or Program Management certifications
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Associate Certification
• Familiarity with additional AWS services (e.g., Lambda EC2, RDS)
• Experience with advanced algorithm design and implementation in the areas of commercial remote sensing, data processing, and analytics extraction proliferated
• Familiarity with the current state-of-the-art in computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and multi-int fusion as applied to GEOINT data and remote sensing sources
