Job Description

The Senior EMC HW Engineer for Development Test role performs hardware testing activities including test architecture design, functional test planning, scheduling, cost assessment, and execution under the direction of Project Engineers and Project Managers. They are responsible for assigned aspects of test within a program including test execution, test troubleshooting, unit troubleshooting, knowledge of lab operations, and maintaining a safe working environment. They collaborate with colleagues from around the world, gaining exposure to a broad base of expertise and perspectives that spans departments. The Senior HW Engineer contributes to the development of new test processes and methodologies with a focus on delivering high-quality products.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct electromagnetic compatibility testing on electronic devices and systems according to industry standards (e.g., EN/IEC 61800)
  • Contribute to the creation of test plans and specifications for EMC testing.
  • Contribute to the creation of product functional test plans from product Functional Requirements, High-level Design documents, and subject matter expert input.
  • Setup and operate EMI EMC testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and conducted emission measurement systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex EMC problems independently
  • Analyze test results and identify sources of electromagnetic interference or non-compliance with regulatory standards
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings in detailed test reports
  • Work with design engineers to recommend design changes or improvements to achieve electromagnetic compatibility
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure calibration and accuracy of measurements
  • Stay current with industry standards and regulations related to electromagnetic compatibility testing
  • Develop test procedures and capture procedures in the applicable test management system.
  • Investigate hardware and software tools and methods to improve the functional testing process.
  • Participate in concept generation of new products representing test input to the design process.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation products or other industrial control equipment
  • Familiarity with embedded controllers in power conversion equipment.
  • Familiarity with appropriate UL, IEC, TUV functional safety, and IEC 17025 requirements
  • Familiarity with SAP, Jira, Jama and Jira Align
