Responsibilities

The Compliance/Privacy Specialist will serve as a resource to Lovelace Health System and provide support for compliance policy and procedure development and implementation, auditing and monitoring, training and education, eligibility screening, compliance investigations, and reporting. Will provide support for the facility's Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Privacy program, development, implementation, maintenance, and compliance of it.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience and must obtain the associate's degree within 2 years.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy laws, access, and release of information.
  • Proven organization, encouraging communication, and presentation skills, both written and spoken.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in privacy/compliance in a healthcare environment.
