Department Information

The Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation (CIDI) was created by a merger of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access (CATEA) and AMAC Accessibility. CATEA grew out of collaborations in the late 1970s between Georgia Tech Industrial Design students and local disability groups. Their efforts led to the establishment of CATEA in 1980 by the Board of Regents. For more than 20 years, CATEA provided services for Georgia's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, established the statewide Tech Knowledge information clearinghouse on assistive technology, hosted various national resource centers on assistive technology for the workplace, provided accessibility audits for public facilities and information technology to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and produced computer skill and adult education programs. By the early 2000s, CATEA had transformed from a service-oriented center into a full-fledged research center.

Job Summary

Provide support to the sales and delivery of an academic unit's offering of customized educational programs to outside organizations (corporations, government entities, etc.). Work collaboratively with unit's sales and marketing personnel, faculty and the client organization to develop and deliver program results that meet customer needs. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Unit sales management, administration and faculty; sales prospects and client organization management. This position typically will advise and counsel: prospects and clients, unit administration and faculty. This position will supervise: NA

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Consult with client organization personnel to determine specific educational needs.
Job Duty 2 - Translated client needs into the design of program curricula.
Job Duty 3 - Coordinate resources required (facilities, faculty, etc.) for program development and presentation.
Job Duty 4 - Maintain client relationships to promote ongoing customer satisfaction.
Job Duty 5 - Monitor program delivery and coordinate any required changes or additions to program content.
Job Duty 6 - Collaborate with sales personnel regarding client relations and content delivery.
Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support the Assistant Director of Business Operations in the evaluation of business strategies and systems to serve customer needs effectively and efficiently.
  • Direct the day-to-day operations in the customer service department.
  • Collaborate with other CIDI service departments to ensure that customer requests are processed correctly.
  • Develop and grow strategic relationships with partners in the accessibility industry, vendors, AT makers, developers, and researchers.
  • Respond directly to customer inquiries as required; resolve issues requiring management attention.
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Three to four years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

Assistive Technology

Vocational Rehabilitation

Special Education

Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Veterans' Administration

AT Reuse Program

Rehabilitation School/Clinic

Independent Living Center

Aging and Disability Resource Center

Disability community non-profit

Disability-related agency/organization

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires skills in developing and maintaining positive customer relationships, specialized educational program content design and delivery, project management and communications.
