Job Summary:

The Shipping Associate is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate shipment of finished goods out of the facility. This role assists in maintaining a well-organized warehouse according to established 5S standards and facilitates the movement of product throughout the facility to maintain inventories and fulfill customer orders.

Work Experience:

The ideal candidate will have experience with SAP shipping requirements and a background in manufacturing, shipping, and/or receiving. Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Stage upcoming orders via forklift

Scan barcodes of staged loads

Print finished shipping documents and place with corresponding staged order

Safely operate a forklift to stage material, load trucks, unload trucks, and transfer material within the plant as needed

Perform material move transactions in the SAP system as necessary

Process required paperwork to ensure shipped goods are accurately reflected in inventory systems

Perform daily inventory as needed

Communicate information to relevant personnel to maintain inventories of required consumables

Familiarity with UPS and FedEx requirements

Effective communication skills to interact with all levels of management

Ability and willingness to change out propane cylinders on the forklift as required

Other miscellaneous responsibilities as deemed necessary

Physical and Environmental Demands:

Frequent standing and walking; frequent stooping and squatting; frequent bending. Occasional bending and twisting; occasional stair climbing; pushing/pulling 30-60 pounds of force; occasional reaching; repetitive use of wrist, hands, and fingers; frequent use of shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. Must be physically capable of safely operating powered industrial equipment such as forklifts.
