About the Position

The Real Property Specialist manages the acquisition and disposition of county-owned properties, the leases and licenses for various County departments, data entry, and monitoring of assigned properties in the Land Management System.

We maintain the real property data in the Land Management System and OnBase for County-owned and leased facilities and the acquisition/lease/disposition of County real property. We Require

  • Two years of experience in real estate transactions, property management, or related technical positions that involve land/property rights and drafting real estate agreements
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Public Administration or STEM field
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

  • Demonstrated experience in any of the following: acquisition of real estate; real property rights; title and escrow services; contract writing; government land operations; land planning; space leasing; property management; and database management

Job Contributions

  • Draft Leases, Licenses, Amendments, Letters of Intent, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Agenda Items. Incorporate redlines and ensure their accuracy
  • Correspond with County Departments and outside Landlords, Tenants, and Contractors
  • Audit and abstract leases and files
  • Calendar Board Meetings and Dates for document execution
  • Distribute completed documentation to appropriate parties. Maintain good rapport with these same parties
  • Familiarize oneself with County owned and leased properties, Supervisor Districts, electronic files, policies and procedures and workflow
  • Offer ideas and opinions to better equip the real estate department and streamline work
  • General office duties, including opening and distributing mail and scheduling meetings
  • Assist in document migration to repository and database
  • Assist in special projects or with other department

Working Conditions

  • Intermediate experience or training in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, OnBase
  • Good organizational skills
  • Please note - AZ Real Estate License must be placed in Inactive status while working with the Maricopa County Real Estate Department
  • Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
  • The position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
  • This model combines elements of both in-person and remote work. Employees split their time between working from a physical location (e.g., an office) and working remotely (from home or another location). The ratio of in-office to remote work can vary based on company policy or individual needs, offering more flexibility than a fully in-person role
