Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our core data centers and expand services nationally and globally. You will be part of our server operations team responsible for maintaining the data center environments, and ensuring all customer server environments are secure, operational, and highly available through continuous proactive monitoring, customer support, and scheduled maintenance.

This location adheres to the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). All employees must undergo a federal background check, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide after hours level II technical support for server, Operating System, and operating environment alerts and issues.
  • Perform basic monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of all aspects of servers, operating systems, and hardware.
  • Respond to customer impacting events. Diagnose, resolve, and communicate problems.
  • Build, upgrade, configure, provision, install and administer Windows servers from scratch spanning different platforms and configurations.
  • Oversee Windows Server cumulative patch updates and troubleshoot issues with patching.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities on customer server environments. Upgrade and downgrade servers.

Your Shift:

  • Monday - Friday; 4:00pm - 1:00am CT

You Must Have:

  • 2+ years of relatable experience.
  • Fluent verbal and written skills in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows operating system, software, and hardware related problems.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize your time based on supervisor input.
  • Experience in Windows Server 2008 R2 upgrade to Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2022.
  • Experience in Windows Server 2012 R2 upgrade to Windows Server 2019 or Windows Server 2022.
  • Pre-implementation project planning and post implementation documentation skills.
  • Experience in working with Word and Excel documents from an end user perspective.

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Experience with deploying virtualized infrastructures (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V).
  • Experience with Microsoft server technologies and relevant training or certifications (MCSE or MCP certifications).
  • Experience performing first- or second-level Windows server operations support in a small- to mid-scale business.
  • Experience with storage systems, deployment, and configuration, provisioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Linux operating system environments.
  • Basic understanding of network protocols, principles and concepts including the ability to troubleshoot local connectivity issues.
  • Experience with service management framework such as ITIL.
  • Experience creating and implementing a systems administration and improvement program to maximize up-time and service delivery in accordance with business needs and priorities.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employee.
