Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Revenue Cycle Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate as the Associate Analyst is responsible for performing detailed analysis and audits related to billing, claims, and reimbursement processes. This includes identifying and recovering underpayments, preventing denials, and ensuring efficient workflows to expedite cash flow. The role requires querying systems to identify potential issues, conducting efficiency analyses using tools such as EPIC and Tableau, and maintaining accurate records.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform audits to identify and recover underpayments caused by contract misinterpretation and invalid denials.
  • Collect and analyze payer data to determine denial, underpayment, and overpayment trends.
  • Execute data mining and in-depth accounts receivable analysis.
  • Maintain data integrity when manipulating data files for analysis purposes.
  • Coordinate audit activities to ensure timely submission of clear, organized deliverables for meetings.
  • Evaluate and escalate eligibility, authorization, billing, and claims processing inaccuracies to implement upstream solutions.
  • Assist with providing constructive feedback and developing training tools.
  • Ensure cash optimization and accounts receivable reduction activity is functioning to fullest capability.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of departments within NYULMC and contracted payers.
  • Adhere to compliance and departmental policies and procedures including compliance with 100% of HIPAA requirements, required trainings, and other Hospital mandated activities.
  • Work independently, take initiative, and think critically.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree.
0-2 years of experience.
Proficient in the use of productivity-based computer software (MS Office).
Familiar with medical terminology and hospital medical billing guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Epic computer software.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $74,200.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
