Mascoma Bank is seeking an SVP of Product Management to provide strategic vision and leadership for maintaining and maturing Mascoma Bank's enterprise banking applications and platforms. This person will oversee all aspects of product ownership, product development, product delivery, and product lifecycle management. They are responsible for coordinating organizational goals and priorities by collaborating with the Bank's leadership and business lines that depend on these enterprise systems. The SVP of Product Management is also responsible for all vendor relationships whose applications are part of the Bank's technology stack, including both fintech and legacy platforms. The SVP of Product Management plays a key role in ensuring the platforms are efficient, cost-effective, available, and are both user and customer friendly. This person will also ensure that data is accessible and available for broader analytical use.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

  1. Leads product management and enterprise banking system strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future product management systems across the organization.
  2. Develops and maintains an appropriate product management and enterprise banking organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
  3. Establishes product management team goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  4. Acts as an advocate for the Bank's product management and enterprise banking platforms via regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users.
  5. Identifies opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in enterprise banking systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
  6. Assesses and communicates risks associated with enterprise banking investments.
  7. Develops, tracks, and controls the enterprise banking annual operating and capital budgets.
  8. Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for enterprise banking spending and initiatives.
  9. Coordinates and facilitates communication with senior management and other stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new enterprise banking system implementations.
  10. Ensures continuous delivery of enterprise banking services through oversight of service level agreements with Operational and Retail Owners and partnering to monitor system performance.
  11. Ensures enterprise banking system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations. Establishes lines of control for current and proposed enterprise banking information systems.
  12. Partners with VP of Operations to communicate bank-wide plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating enterprise banking systems.
  13. Directs development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan for enterprise banking systems
  14. Approves, prioritizes, and controls projects as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major enterprise banking systems.
  15. Participates in vendor contract negotiations for enterprise banking contracts and pursues master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.
  16. Promotes and oversees strategic relationships between enterprise banking resources and external entities, including government, vendors, and partner organizations.
  17. Complies with all relevant bank policies and procedures including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and government compliance, as well as those associated with consumer compliance laws, rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Experience managing and/or directing technology and product teams. Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Substantial exposure to data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.
  • Proven experience in technology planning, organization, and development.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles. Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.

  • Proven leadership ability. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Understanding of the Bank's goals and objectives.

  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT.
