Position Summary:

Vallen's Corporate Trainer is an individual contributor position responsible for the coordination, development and delivery of associate soft skill development and/or IT application training.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists with assessing organizational training needs for associate professional skill development, knowledge of company products, processes, work roles, and/or technologies; identifies skill or knowledge gaps among the organizations associate population.
  • Develops training content in response to identified training needs and/or modifies 3rd party developed training materia! l as required; develops training programs and required materials or analyzes vendor offerings and makes recommendations for purchase.
  • Selects training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted.
  • Maintains existing course content, manuals, or other training materials.
  • Facilitates classroom, web-based, and/or individualized training.
  • Coordinates and ensures appropriate training facilities, equipment, materials are available for training activities.
  • Maintains accurate associate training records in the company's Learning Management System; produces reports for assessing training objectives as required.
  • May assist with and/or administer the company's document control systems; ensures required ISO compliance; may lead or participate in ISO-related audits.
  • Provides leadership and/or consultation for change management! .
  • Participates and may lead special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Communications, Education, etc.) coupled with 3+ years relevant work experience

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstration of successfully developing and delivering associate training programs highly preferred.
  • Computer proficiency and MS-Office products required; company-specific applications preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with and application of LEAN principles.
  • Distribution or related industry experience preferred.

  • This position requires public speaking and the ability/desire to present in front of others.
  • Associates are regularly required to sit, stand and bend.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, binding machines, filing cabinets, etc.
  • Position requires long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
  • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and may include little to no advanced notice.
  • May be required to lift up to 10 lbs.
