Job Summary: As the Director of Product for AI, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the AI strategy for the Innovation Team. The AI team serves as a horizontal function that supports all vertical Innovation Teams, ensuring seamless integration of AI capabilities into the broader product portfolio such as cameras, energy devices, security devices or the mobile app. Your team will deliver proofs of concept, prototypes, capabilities, and features that will be integrated into the Vivint App and the Smart Home. You will partner with the vertical teams to develop innovative and tailored solutions that enhance energy management, security systems and the smart home experience.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Shape and implement the AI strategy for the Innovation Team, aligning with vertical partners, business goals, and customer needs.
  • Secure executives buy-in through compelling business cases, ROI frameworks, customer research and storytelling.
  • Guide the research, design, and deployment of AI-driven capabilities that deliver personalization, automation and consumer value while following governance best practices.
  • Oversee the development of machine learning models to predict energy consumption, detect anomalies, and enhance home automation.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, design, and data teams within the Innovation Team to integrate AI capabilities into smart home devices and platforms.
  • Drive innovation in AI applications such as person recognition, behavioral analytics, and anomaly detection for security enhancements.
  • Ensure AI-driven features are user-friendly, secure, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage partnerships with AI vendors, strategic partners, and technology providers.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, IoT, and home automation, applying relevant advancements to our product suite.



Qualifications:



  • Strong background in AI/ML with a proven ability to apply these technologies in customer-facing products.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-centric product development, ensuring solutions are built with a deep understanding of user needs and pain points.
  • Experience with embedding agentic AI systems in customer facing products.
  • Experience measuring the success of customer-facing AI experiences.
  • Familiarity with developing and deploying AI-driven agents that adapt to user behaviors and focus on trust.
  • Excellent at using a customer-back approach rather than an engineering-forward mindset.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and customer needs, translating AI capabilities into meaningful user experiences.
  • Technical proficiency in machine learning, data science, and AI-driven automation, with the ability to partner across functional teams.
  • Experience working with IoT, smart home technology, or consumer electronics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with energy management systems, demand response, or smart grid integration.
  • Background in AI for video analytics, computer vision, or natural language processing.
  • Knowledge of edge AI deployment for IoT devices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance for AI in home security and energy applications.
  • Background in rapid prototyping or MVP development
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
