DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and assessing the operations of nursing services. Your focus will be on ensuring the continuity of nursing care and services, guaranteeing that patients receive care and treatment aligned with established policies, procedures, standards, and professional nursing practice guidelines. You will assess the nursing care and treatment processes to confirm adherence to medical, psychiatric, and nursing protocols, ensuring that patients receive optimal care. Additionally, you will collaborate with various disciplines to coordinate individual patient care and treatment, contributing to the maintenance of nursing treatment standards and quality improvement initiatives. Your efforts will play a crucial role in risk management and enhancing the overall quality of nursing services provided to patients.

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule may vary based on operational needs.
- This position may require overtime and travel.
- Free parking is available.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as a Registered Nurse Supervisor or three years as a Registered Nurse Instructor (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration) in a facility providing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; or
- Six years of professional nursing experience, which includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration. A master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or nursing administration may be substituted for up to one year of the required general professional nursing work experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year in a supervisory or consultative capacity providing nursing care and services for people with a mental or physical injury, illness, or developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
- All positions require active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
