Senior Civil Engineer

Due to our continued and sustained growth and success, we are now looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to support our current and future infrastructure projects in the Pittsburgh Market.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  Overseeing technical design deliverables for work packages for civil infrastructure projects

  
  
• 
  

  Liaising with Package Managers to assure Work Packages are compliant with Draft PA Works requirements

  
  
• 
  

  Assigning designers, checkers and reviewers, design input validation, capturing design changes/directives, input to ACC RAID (Risk Actions Issues Decisions) log during design progression and if required input to Design Team Assumptions, Deviations and Risk Register logs, signing Design and/or Construction Certificates (where appropriate)

  
  
• 
  

  Serving as a task/discipline lead or project manager for civil engineering projects.

  
  
• 
  

  Utilizes advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines

  
  
• 
  

  Build internal and external client relationships with other engineering disciplines and project managers, and clients in the business sectors

  
  
• 
  

  Leading in civil engineering design within the projects and writing of contractor's scope of works

  
  

We invite applications from candidates with the following required experience:

• 
  

  A bachelor's level degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (a master's degree would be considered an asset)

  
  
• 
  

  Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status in New York or New Jersey

  
  
• 
  

  10+ years of relevant industry experience in civil engineering across Water, Transit and Transportation Infrastructure sectors.

  
  
• 
  

  Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and clients (technical and non-technical) and nurture the development of junior staff

  
  
• 
  

  Ability and enthusiasm for supervising the work of others, including check and approval of key deliverables

  
  
• 
  

  Proficiency in civil engineering software, strong project management skills, and excellent communication abilities and demonstrable technical lead and collaborative capabilities

  
  
• 
  

  Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
