Job Overview

Utilizes information on inventory targets, capacity planning, service level and other planning tools to provide continuous uninterrupted supply of products for Cardiac Assist (CA) Hardware, Disposables and Service. Establish and maintain global inventory levels within corporate guidelines. Mentors' member of the supply/production planning department and factories through problem resolution and process improvement. Manage and coordinate the development of the Cardiac Assist production and material plans based on the S&OP plan to ensure schedules are met, inventory levels are appropriate and revenue targets are achieved. Provide Getinge with products and services that best meet the objectives of Quality, Service and Price.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

* Prepare and deliver monthly supply plans to the CA Hardware, Disposables and Service factories

* Manages all supply plans in ERP system

* Work routinely with the factories to create committed build plan and resolve scheduling issues to ensure supply is attained

* Develop planning techniques and innovative solutions to lead plant manufacturing teams towards process improvements and corporate goals

* Implement and manage appropriate inventory levels by SKU within corporate guidelines for all distribution centers

* Ensure continuous flow of Finished Devices to maintain key supply chain metrics, i.e., service level, backorder and inventory levels

* Represent S&OP department in various meetings and projects as a decision maker

* Communicate potential shortages and product issues to the appropriate people

* Establish an allocation process and communicate to the appropriate people where supply cannot meet demand

* Work with factories on establishing and communication of get-well dates for all product shortages. Distribute communication on get well dates

* Work with Global Demand Planners to resolve any demand issues that are impacting supply or potential supply

* Work with Marketing, Supply Chain and Factories on integration of product life cycles

* Work with factories on any required inventory adjustments due to business needs such as ramp ups for factory shutdowns, transition stock etc.

* Act as escalation point/ point of contact for all supply planning issues with plants

* Serve as SME/ Supply Planning lead on process improvement initiatives

* Create and manage CA Production Schedule based on S&OP forecast

* Plans and releases work orders consistent with the Master Schedule

* Coordinates all activity with production cells to ensure schedule are met and product is available to support revenue plans

* Approve requisitions for inventory material required by departments outside of production

* Implement material plans for new products

* Directs the movement of material that requires rework in production

* Assist in purging material

* Allocates material between service, production and other departments

* Re-direct purchasing and production priorities due to changes in customer demand and forecasts

* Initiates purchase orders to return material from both distribution centers for rework

* Assists other departments on forecasts and inventory

Minimum Requirements



  • A Bachelor's degree (equivalent) in Business Management or other related field and/or combination of education and related experience is preferred.
  • APICS Certification is beneficial.



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • A minimum of five or more years' experience in production planning, purchasing, materials management or other related activities is required. Seven or more years of experience is preferred. Experience is a regulated industry (GMP's and ISO 9000) is ideal.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment, take initiative and be flexible.
  • Must be a self-starter and well organized.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication. The ability to make effective presentations to all levels of the organization.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, work effectively with both employees and management and be able to facilitate resolution of fairly complex issues.
  • Previous working knowledge of MRP or equivalent system is required. Prior SAP experience is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Power Point is preferred.
