Position Overview: NYU School of Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Director of Labor and Delivery Physician to join our renowned team of healthcare professionals. The Director of Labor and Delivery Attending is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, management, and oversight of the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role involves managing resources, staff, and performance improvement initiatives, while adhering to regulatory standards and hospital policies. Key Responsibilities: * Provide leadership and guidance to the Labor and Delivery team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. * Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures. * Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Labor and Delivery department. * Ensure efficient resource utilization. * Participate in hospital-wide committees and initiatives related to maternal and newborn care. * Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care in the Labor and Delivery department. * Collaborate with physicians, midwives, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care pathways. * Promote evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives. * Address patient concerns and complaints in a timely and effective manner. * Assist in recruitment, training, and evaluations of staff and other learners within the Labor and Delivery department. * Provide ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities for staff. * Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and respect within the department. * Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of care provided in the Labor and Delivery department. * Identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based interventions. * Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives. * Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and hospital policies. * Maintain effective communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. - * Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care transitions. Qualifications: * MD/DO with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology. * Extensive experience in Labor and Delivery, including experience in a leadership role. * Strong leadership, management, and communication skills. * Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and hospital policies. * Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
