Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Personal Care Assistant - Brooklyn.
In this role, the successful candidate Provide personal care to Social Adult Day Service program participants based on assessed needs. Assist participants with daily activities, facilitate program engagement, and provide escort and other support in a protective setting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide cueing and personal care assistance for the following ADLs: toileting, mobility, transfer and eating.
- Provide on-site escort services, assist with transfers, and offer transportation support to program participants travelling between their homes, the program, and other destinations.
- Cue for medication if necessary.
- Provide program participants and their caregivers with emotional support when needed.
- Work to actively engage and encourage participants in activities while supporting their involvement.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment to ensure the safety of program participants at all times.
- Comply with organizational, NYC Aging, and other relevant policies and requirements, and participate in regular training sessions.
- Ensure that documentation is maintained, including, but not limited to, attendance sheets and assistance in preparing progress and case notes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- To qualify you must have a High School Diploma
- HHA/PCA Certificate
- Applicants must pass a medical pre-employment screening
- Applicant must show a genuine interest and display empathy in caring for the elderly
- Working knowledge of sanitation personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions
- Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and hospital staff

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $33,778.63 - $43,820.40 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
