Job Description

The Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation will play a pivotal role in advancing the Trulaske College of Business' strategic priorities by fostering a vibrant culture of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking throughout the College. Working with academic departments, the Director will create and support initiatives that assist business students in the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. This position will lead the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that support students in translating innovative ideas into viable ventures. The Director will collaborate with academic departments, industry partners, and community organizations to enhance resources, mentorship, and funding opportunities that encourage entrepreneurship. Additionally, the role will involve promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, conducting workshops, and organizing events that showcase innovative solutions and entrepreneurial accomplishments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in entrepreneurship, a passion for innovation, and the ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders to drive economic and social impact.

The Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) invites applicants with excellent teaching credentials and/or a mix of teaching and work experience for a non-tenure track (NTT), full-time teaching position. The Trulaske College of Business has four academic units (Accountancy, Finance, Management, and Marketing), and the selected Director and NTT professor will be assigned an academic home based upon the candidate's background and experiences. The person selected must be available to start teaching undergraduate classes on campus by mid-August 2025. Overall teaching load will be equivalent to twelve credit hours per semester. This is not a remote-work position; however, some online courses may be scheduled.

This position is expected to include teaching entrepreneurship courses, which may include the supervision of student workers or teaching assistants. Other courses may be assigned based on instructor skills and experience and departmental needs. Some study abroad teaching opportunities may be available. The successful candidate is expected to assume active service roles related to curriculum development and quality assurance at department and college levels.

Qualifications

Candidates must have already completed a master's degree in business or related field from an accredited institution.

Candidates will be evaluated:

Prior industry and professional knowledge/experience and a record of excellence in teaching; industry experience; evidence of collaborative team participation. Relevant industry or professional certifications will be viewed favorably.

Key skills sought include:

Ability to develop programs and initiatives that support the College's strategy for developing students with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.

Ability to engage students in both large and small section formats and in both face-to-face and l00% online formats, effective use of a variety of assessment methods, currency in business, familiarity with learning management systems, and collegiality in service roles involving curriculum design, integration, and evaluation. The college and the department emphasize experiential learning for our students.

Articulate this strategic priority to Advancement team, donors, and alumni to obtain financial support for Center initiatives.

Supervision of full-time staff, teaching assistants, and student workers.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant. The anticipated salary range for these positions is $100,000 - $140,000 annually.
