The position of Inside Sales Representative- Medium Voltage is primarily responsible for the management of our customer relationships and commercial transactions for Medium Voltage Cables. This role will use knowledge, experience, and judgement to assist Marmon Industrial's business as well as our customer's business to leverage cost savings and profit enhancement opportunities.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain commercial relationships with existing accounts through quoting, completion of bid packages, order entry, attending customer meetings and providing additional documentation as required.
  • Reporting of quote activity and hit ratio for assigned group.
  • Work with Engineering and Operational teams on new product development through voice of the customer.
  • Work with the Supervisor/Director of Operations on any negotiations or terms review that require exceptions to the company policy.
  • Attend production meetings and work with the Operational team, to monitor customer order status, ensure communication of any schedule changes to customers, and communicate any critical customer issues to the internal team.
  • Use judgement to enhance margin and identify cost savings while ensuring compliance with company pricing policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with shipments, invoicing, and product quality.
  • Provide valuable customer and market data for making strategic decisions.
  • Represent Marmon IEI at professional conferences, association meetings as required
  • Act as backup to other inside sales members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all company environmental, health, safety policies and government sanction screening.
  • Participate in Lean/5S process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance to ISO Quality System procedures.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Associate's degree, Marketing or Communications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales with a proven record of successfully managing customer relationships.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Excellent telephone sales and customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to interface on a technical level with internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize, organize and manage time sensitive issues.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, i.e., Outlook, Word, and Power Point.
  • Advanced skills in Excel are required. Must have the ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets, as well as merge and analyze data
  • Team oriented individual who can easily collaborate with others.
  • Ability to travel to key accounts as necessary.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
  • Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
