CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist/Geologist to join our Power & Manufacturing - Environmental Team at our Atlanta, GA office.



YOUR IMPACT

CHA's engineers, ecologists and scientists partner with clients to develop practical solutions that strike the right balance between environmental sustainability, community needs and cost. We're uniquely qualified to assist with environmental services from initial site characterization through remediation. CHA draws on the expertise of technical professionals with decades of practical experience in environmental site assessment, brownfield remediation, and mitigation techniques.

Our Environmental Scientists/Geologists are experts with the company's and client's methods, standard operating procedures, reporting templates, and practices. This key position at CHA conducts field work and analyzes data in order to prevent and/or solve environmental problems. The Environmental Scientist/Geologist completes background historical research, site inspections, and regulatory file reviews for environmental site assessments. Additionally, this role interprets and/or prepares sampling plans, collects environmental media samples, and completes field documentation and technical reports.

Our Environmental Scientists/Geologists play an important role in mentoring and directing junior scientists on routine field assignments and tasks. These professionals also participate in public information meetings and hearings and review and evaluate the potential impact of federal, state, and local environmental legislation.

REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Valid US driver's license required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience required
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of the respective scientific discipline
  • Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel is required; ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping experience a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Must have the ability to work in the field in different weather conditions
  • Must be able to physically navigate in the field
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and/or USEPA Asbestos Building Inspector preferred


SALARY RANGE:

$67,000 - $82,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
