JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Resource Planning Analyst to join the SIMBA team at The Pennsylvania State University. We are looking for a talented individual to lead and assist in developing and implementing new applications, specifically focusing on labor distribution and effort certification.

The primary duties of this position include tracking functionality changes due to application upgrades, exploring the application to understand current and future capabilities, and directing and executing documentation of functional specifications for developing feature requests defined by the organization unit and governance committee. Additionally, the candidate will oversee, develop, and assist in executing testing plans in all environments for new features, support users with incident management, training, and documentation, and may also support other functional team members in Grants Management, Procurement, Human Capital Management, and Core Finance as needed.

The successful candidate will serve as an expert to management and staff within the SIMBA Sustainment Organization and must demonstrate knowledge of broad concepts and procedures related to the development, implementation, and support of SIMBA.

Primary Duties:

  • Evaluate, analyze, and maintain ERP system(s); serve as a liaison between technical staff and user groups

  • Collaborate with Budget and Finance, Office of Research Information Services, Procurement, Applied Research Lab, Penn State Health, College of Medicine, Worklion, and LionPath. Analyze requirements to define scope, objectives, and feasibility; modify and configure ERP to meet business needs and stakeholder requirements including Board of Trustee reporting, Investments, Endowments, Audited Financial Statements, Cash Position Statements, Research Post Award Financial processing including Grant closeouts, etc.

  • Evaluate and implement integration requirements, third-party data needs and processes

  • Collect user feedback regarding system performance and work with team to prioritize configuration requests

  • Develop and execute test plans and validation, as well as other quality assurance measures; conduct testing such as user acceptance, performance, security, usability, etc.

  • Provide production and operational support for major system events, such as annual salary increase processing and mass transaction processing

  • Research system options to create business efficiency and process improvement

  • Participate in and research university-wide initiatives and impacts to system processes, for example, RSTP (Research Support Transformation Project), RAI (Research Administration Initiative, Finance OST, IT OST

  • Design, implement, and analyze reports to determine the overall trends of the organization

  • Maintain relationships with vendors; work with vendors on bug fixes, new features, and proper use of products

  • Perform in an agile work environment to implement high-priority leadership requirements

  • Assist in development of training content, provide trainings, demonstrations, and regular communication to end-users

  • Maintain system documentation and records of changes and incidents

  • Provide advanced customer service and functional support to end-users in area of expertise; assist with implementing "workarounds" when system issues affect operations

  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of additional modules or successor software applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding ERP Accounting systems

  • Understanding of the concept of Labor Distribution/Effort Certification

  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing, strong organizational skills

  • Proven record of success as a member of a professional team

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with our academic partners

  • Accountability, attention to detail, and a proven commitment to customer service

Education and Experience:

Minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information:

The location of this position is flexible, offering options for fully remote work within the United States, fully in-person at the University Park Campus, or a hybrid model of both in-person and remote work.

Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone, and candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.

Successful completion of standard background checks is required for this position.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$76,700.00 - $115,100.00
