Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Electronics Technician for their facility located in Bloomington, Indiana.

This position will provide electronic/electrical/mechanical support to the plant and maintain plant equipment and machinery. Qualified candidates must have 1 - 3 years previous manufacturing experience, must be able to read from schematics and vendor data, and perform preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Operators and Leadership to identify and understand symptoms of machine problem
  • Diagnose root cause of problems with production equipment to determine best solution: electrical or mechanical.
  • Conduct LockOut/TagOut procedures, Preventive Maintenance
  • Perform required repairs
  • Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to Operator and Leadership
  • Document parts used and repairs completed in Prism
  • Maintain the successful operation of production machines according to priority
  • Manage maintenance and improvement projects
  • Maintain fire and security systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, including motor relays, circuit breakers, machine & process controls, and electrical distribution systems
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery logic systems, PC based systems, and all types of drives and motors
  • Participate on Continuous Improvement teams
  • Function as a first responder for medical/first aid

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Must be able to work 12 hour night shift
  • You must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a consistent basis
  • Proficient in electrical/electronic systems repairs & troubleshooting
  • Ability to work and troubleshoot PLC's, ladder logic, and PC based systems
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings/schematics

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

  • Preferred 5 years of experience as an Electronics Tech or similar experience requiring ET competencies or a combination of experience and training
  • Electronics Tech Certification and/or advanced training a plus
  • Demonstrated project management and successful project implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with vendors, contractors
  • Able to write and communicate effectively with ability to train others
  • Multi-crafted and competent in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical repairs
  • Proficient in troubleshooting basic electrical circuits
  • Proficient at troubleshooting Servo Motors & related controls, AC/DC drives, stepper motors
  • Clear understanding in process control systems such as: temperature control, pressure control, flow control and PID control loops
