Cape Fox subsidiary Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resumes for a Bioanalystto support the members at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $75,000 - $84,000.

The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Responsibilities:



  • The Special Pathogens Laboratory within the Diagnostic Systems Division provides diagnostic and environmental testing support for high consequence pathogens to include biothreat and Select Agent organisms.
  • Provide technical laboratory support performing laboratory experiments in BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories in compliance with FDA GLP (21 CFR) regulations and other applicable regulations and guidelines (i.e. CLIP, COLA, ISO).
  • Independently and with minimal government assistance, design, oversee, and conduct formal reagent and assay validation and qualification, production of data and reports in support of transitioning diagnostics, and reporting data to the requesting sponsors.
  • Independently and with minimal supervision, conduct in vitro, in vivo, and environmental sample testing by qualitative and quantitative real- time PCR and other methods for the identification of infectious disease of concern to the military, public health, and Force Health Protection.
  • Laboratory work involves the use and handling of pathogenic bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi; clinical and environmental samples containing unknown pathogen to include biothreat agents, and biologic and biologically derived materials that poses human pathogenic risk.
  • Provide bioanalytic, biostatistics, and bioinformatics support to ongoing molecular research and development projects.
  • Collect the raw data from technical staff, process and report the data in a form amenable for analysis, perform limited interpretation, and furnish the tasking PI with the raw data and analytical product.
  • Develop or otherwise acquire, implement, and train other staff members on novel analytical techniques and solutions.
  • Collect, organize, curate, and store large amounts of raw data to facilitate completion of other tasks and provide other staff with open access to non-manipulated data.
  • Perform biostatistical analyses on datasets using Frequentist, Bayesian, and machine learning approaches appropriate for both the data and scientific question.
  • Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines and analysis methodologies.
  • Write and implement computer algorithms, scripts, functions, and/or classes for analysis automation using Perl, Python, Java, MATLAB, or similar computer programming language.
  • Maintain and operate one or more Linux computer workstations to allow for development and use of first-, second-, and third-party-sourced software for both completion of related tasks and open access to other staff.
  • Train other staff members to operate preexisting and newly-developed analysis methods as required for project completion.
  • Provide experimental design support and consultation from an analytics perspective on capabilities and potential outcomes before, during, and after an experiment conducted.
  • Assist PIs in preparation of standard operating procedures, technical reports, and manuscripts for publication.
  • Prepare and provide the TPOC Bioanalyst Quarterly Reports and Bioanalyst Project Reports concerning activities related to these tasks by the requested deadlines.
