Job Overview

Responsible for operation of the receiving and warehouse departments. This person will work with the WH Production Manager/Supervisor to help ensure that all orders are being done in the correct sequence and time in their respective step of the process to meet the customer's demand.

A Day In The Life

  • Be proactive with department safety and report issues that may delay an order from being completed in a safe and timely manner to the Production Manager.
  • Meet with the Production Manager, on a daily basis to review priority orders/schedules for the day.
  • Assist your team with issues involving put away, part pulls, count discrepancies, location discrepancies, identifying and labeling parts, conducting inventories, and receiving questions.
  • Provide shadow & familiarization training for new employees and employees transferring in from other areas, check on their daily and weekly productivity.
  • Work with the Production Manager to shift resources as necessary to ensure the proper progression of material to assembly for orders to meet customer demand.
  • Reports part shortages due to inventory issues such as lost material, cycle counts etc, to Production Manager.
  • Ensure that team members put up incoming parts from receiving in a timely matter.
  • Work with Group leads and planners to ensure that your team is pulling upcoming orders for assembly lines in advance of order change.
  • Throughout the week, ensure that pick orders provided form Customer Service are delivered to Shipping in a timely matter.
  • Process cycle count /scrap log paperwork and submit it to the Production Manager.
  • Work with Quality Technician on expedites as they relate to inspection, as well as working with the lines on issues found by Quality Technician during their inspections.
  • Maintain 5S standards along with Kaizen sustainment within the department.
  • Train your team to follow all safety precautions and to wear applicable PPE.
  • Complete end of month and daily reports as needed, providing them to the Production Manager in a timely manner.
  • When able, provide personnel to support OSP for vendor drop off and pickups.
  • Maintain cycle count certification throughout the warehouse.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure that incoming and outgoing material is counted, properly identified and where needed set aside for inspection.

Experience

Prior experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Prior warehouse experience preferred.

Skills

Must be able to read/write English fluently.

Good communication skills required

Basic math skills required

Strong attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy

Must be a team player

Ability to prioritize production orders for pulling parts for all departments' jobs.

Ability to exercise independent judgment while strongly supporting the policies required.

Ability to adapt to changing conditions & priorities

Ability to work with internal customers: Production Coordinator, Planners

Ability to interpret work with SAP, read production orders, BOMs

Computer skills (SAP, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit/stand/walk up to 100% of work day
