Sunbelt Supply is global provider of flow control solutions. We maintain one of the largest and most diversified selections of valves, actuators, actuation accessories and specialty PFF in North America, comprised of more than 50 major manufacturers. The Director, Commercial Strategy is responsible for developing and leading the Commercial Strategy team, standardizing Sunbelt Supply's approach to contract management, proposal development, and process optimization. This role also oversees the strategic direction and execution of the Key Account team, ensuring alignment with the company's overall commercial objectives.

Some of the exciting things you will do in this role...

  • Collaborate with ISR and OSR Directors to drive commercial strategy and execution.
  • Provide leadership to the Key Account team in developing and implementing account strategies and plans.
  • Set the strategy on contract proposals in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Actively manage and mentor Commercial Strategy team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Account leadership teams.
  • Support the Key Account team with Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), contract negotiations, conflict resolution, and customer escalations.
  • Establish and lead a Contract Review Board to ensure all current and future agreements align with Sunbelt Supply's commercial strategy.
  • Partner with Procurement to align Key Account stocking strategies with Sunbelt's overall commercial strategy and manufacturer partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities within Key Accounts to increase margins, expand product portfolios, and cross-sell with FloWorks-owned companies.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to develop and maintain market analysis, keeping the Commercial Strategy team and Key Accounts informed.
  • Develop and implement a structured target account process to maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Design and implement a Key Account program that aligns with the commercial strategy, optimizes resource utilization, and supports Sunbelt Supply's growth objectives.
  • Assess team competencies, identify knowledge gaps, and implement training programs to enhance overall performance and effectiveness.

A must...

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business development, or a related field, with a proven track record in driving business growth and improving profitability.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in strategic planning, developing long-term business strategies, and aligning them with company objectives.
  • Strong background in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting, ensuring that all commercial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Proven experience in negotiations, establishing partnerships, and managing key client relationships to drive business outcomes.
