Position Title: Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer Location: Onsite. Dearborn, MI. * Valid Driver's license required. * Position may require travel to remote development locations (Arizona/Canada/Colorado/Florida) for vehicle testing - approximately 2 weeks per trip and 3 trips per year. Qualifications: 3+ years experience of powertrain calibration with vehicle and/or dyno testing. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSAE, BSE Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering). Strong problem-solving skills to drive resolution to sophisticated issues. Excellent data analysis capabilities, including statistical knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Team player who excels in collaborative, cross-functional environments. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Position Description: Diesel Powertrain Calibration Engineer position involves evaluating, assessing, testing, & optimizing vehicle attributes. Modify vehicle and powertrain calibrations to meet attributes including emissions, drivability, performance, diagnostics, fuel economy, and NVH. This can be on vehicles and/or in engine dynamometer test cells. Perform data analysis and regress model calibrations with large data sets & communicate conclusions. Interface with software algorithm suppliers (internal and external) to evaluate new features prior to development process. Calibrate and sign-off features for future model year Diesel programs. Document progress and methods used to calibrate & validate features within assigned responsibility. Use models and simulation to reduce testing and optimize powertrain calibrations. Manage calibration parameter databases & ensure error-free production releases.
