Summary:

United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County is currently seeking a temporary Human Resources Associate for our 2025 Community Campaign. The HR Associate will partner with the Human Resources Partner, and the HR team, to assist with recruitment of seasonal staff needed for the community campaign. This role will have general HR exposure but will primarily focus on recruiting efforts.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:


  • Gain a working knowledge of United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County as it relates to HR and recruiting efforts.
  • Review applications for seasonal/temporary roles and document candidate status.
  • Send Wedge video interviews to potential candidates as a phone screen and review.
  • Follow up with candidates as needed to keep things moving.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to grow the outreach.
  • Coordinate interviews and schedules amongst the candidates and internal staff.
  • Attend staff meetings with HR to stay on top of weekly needs.
  • Assist with logistics needed for onboarding including new hire paperwork and background checks.
  • Track all individuals and maintain consistent communication with HR and internal stakeholders such as Resource Development.
  • Take notes as needed.

  • Intermediate Excel skills are necessary to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn other computer programs such as job sites, LinkedIn, JobsthatHelp, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal skills are necessary to effective communication in all facets of our business.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment with very high demands.
  • Ability to represent United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County in a consistently professional manner.



Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field highly preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • A commitment of 15-20 hours per week
  • Hybrid schedule
