Description
All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, CNMC Policies and Procedures and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. CNMC has the expectation that RNs will develop relationships within the community that support the health and well being of the community at large. The Nurse Practitioner will be credentialed by the medical staff and licensed to function in an expanded nursing role as a clinical practitioner to a group of patients. Will act under the collaborative supervision of a physician and is responsible for the management of care to patients assigned including: diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and the implementation and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care. All activities will be performed within the guidelines of protocols agreed upon by the medical and nursing divisions. Will provide leadership and consultation within a specialty area through participation in unit/departmental initiatives and mentorship of others.
