The Accounting Assistant will work under the supervision of the Accounting Manager to provide services and accounts payable.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Perform the following accounts payable duties:
- Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and payment.
- Match invoices to the purchase order and check for proper approval prior to keying in for payment.
- Create Settlement Runs for checks and ACH's
- Mail check payments
- Maintain AP Email Inbox
- Maintain master vendor files
- Assist in year-end 1099 processing
- Assist in with annual audit requests
- Misc. Projects
Demonstrate understanding of Joint Commission and other regulatory agency compliance regulations.
- Involve self in the learning and application of relevant standards.
- Participate in in-services, seminars, and other meetings to increase involvement and awareness of regulations.
Participate in hospital committees, meetings, and team projects, as applicable.
- Demonstrate punctuality and preparedness.
- Demonstrate effective chairperson skills, if applicable.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Demonstrate good organizational skills with agenda and minute preparation.

Support the efficient and effective use of computerization.
- Assist the Information Systems professional in the design, research and purchase of hardware and software that is related to your position/department.
- Participate in or chair those meetings regarding any decisions regarding the improved use of the financial systems.
- Gain proficiency with hardware and software use by initiating the participating in educational activities.
Additional Job Description: Education/Training Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
- Over two (2+) years of experience in an Accounts Payable position.
- Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Windows packages; specifically, Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and acceptance by the Hospital's insurance carrier.
