Milwaukee Tool is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our HIL & Electronics Automated Test (H.E.A.T) team. The successful candidate will instrument PCBAs, assemble test fixtures, and troubleshoot test systems to support development and testing of our firmware.

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
  • Assemble test fixtures and prototype electronics for test and evaluation in a low volume / high mix environment including PCBAs and wiring.

  • Repair and rework assemblies as needed to support prototype development and testing.

  • Operate electronics rework equipment typically used for densely populated SMT circuits: soldering iron, microscope, hot air pencil.

  • Maintain competent level of performance in SMT and PTH assembly and rework that keeps pace with our design complexity.

  • Operate various lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and meters.

  • Perform tests using a variety of electrical and mechanical test equipment and techniques.

  • Collect data through various equipment and software programs

  • Prepare thorough, timely, and accurate reports of test results and provide recommendations.

  • Participate in the overall maintenance and continuous improvement of the laboratory.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:
  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology or in lieu of a degree, High School diploma accompanied by 2+ years of experience.

  • Two or more years of experience in printed circuit board level rework and repair

  • Experience with mechanical & electrical principles, test equipment, product life/performance test procedures and methods.

  • Knowledge of test concepts in the design and development of products and components.

  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and consistently deliver to a deadline.

  • Computer skills needed to navigate MS Office products, especially Excel.

  • Capability to lift and manipulate 30lbs.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
  • Experience in viewing schematics and PCB layout files in an environment such as Altium.

  • Experience in creating 3D models in Solidworks or AutoCAD.

  • Experience with programming languages (NI LabVIEW, Python, or other script-based languages).

  • Experience with single-board microcontrollers or microcontroller kits (Arduino, Raspberry Pi).

  • Experience with National Instruments hardware.

  • Mechanical mindset and aptitude.
