Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Sage 300 CRE Reporting Specialist to support our accounting and operations teams by developing, customizing, and maintaining financial and operational reports. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, insightful, and timely reporting from Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (formerly Timberline), helping drive business decisions and maintain compliance.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Design, develop, and maintain custom reports using Sage 300 CRE Report Designer, Crystal Reports, Inquiry Designer, and Power BI.
- Translate business needs into technical report specifications, working with accounting, project management, and executive teams.
- Create reports across modules such as Job Cost, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Equipment Cost, Purchasing, Billing, Cash Management, and Project Management.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing reports for performance and accuracy.
- Assist in month-end and year-end reporting processes.
- Support data extraction and transformation for audits, compliance, and internal review.
- Provide end-user training and documentation on running and interpreting reports.
- Assist in data integration, upgrades, and system optimization.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE), particularly in report creation and data analysis.
- Proficient in Crystal Reports, Sage Report Designer, Inquiry Designer, and Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and industry workflows.
- Experience working with complex data sets, cross-module reporting, and drill-down reports.
- Ability to interpret and manipulate SQL queries is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Key Skills
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Familiarity with Timberline Office legacy structure and data schema.
- Experience in transitioning from Sage 300 CRE to another ERP (CMiC) is a bonus.
- Understanding of GAAP and construction compliance reporting (e.g., certified payroll, AIA billing).
