Summary: The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is dedicated to excellence in education, research, and patient care, achieved by faculty, staff, and learners who represent and serve its diverse community. In 2015, Temple University School of Medicine was renamed the Lewis Katz School of Medicine in honor of Temple alumnus, former trustee, and philanthropist Lewis Katz. Katz School of Medicine has 27 basic science and clinical departments full and with over 700 full- and part-time faculty, 800 volunteer faculty, and more than 500 additional staff. The Katz School of Medicine home base is a modern, 11-story medical education and research building with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies. The building opened in 2009 and boasts open-air research labs, smart classrooms, and a state-of-the-art anatomy lab. More than half of the space in the building is dedicated to research. With specialized research centers and strengths focused on population health, neuroscience, cancer, metabolic disease, lung disease, and inflammation, infectious diseases including HIV, cardiovascular disease, substance abuse, and translational science, Katz conducts investigations to break new ground and trains future generations of researchers to follow suit. In addition to its Philadelphia campus, Katz has a four-year regional campus in Bethlehem, PA-the St. Luke's University Health Network-Bethlehem. The Katz School of Medicine also provides opportunities for international students through educational affiliation agreements with universities worldwide. Visiting medical students may take up to two rotations within the program, and they must be full-time students in their final year of medical school. Under the direction of the Simulation Center leadership, the Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for the department's day-to-day administrative operations. This position supports Simulation and Standardized Patient (SP) courses and includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, invoicing, and ordering. Performs other duties as assigned. This position is on-site most of the time with the option to work from home one day a week as work/programs permit. Essential Functions: *Coordinate scheduling with the 25 Live scheduling platform. Schedule courses and equipment, enter learner and additional information, and generate invoices within the program. Prepare paperwork for courses. *Schedule meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and take and distribute meeting minutes for simulation center staff. *Create monthly surgical resident and faculty assignments for simulation courses, notifying attendees of their assignments and documenting attendance; procuring supplies, instruments, and equipment needed for all residency surgical skills lab modules. *Maintain disposable inventory and identify ordering needs. Order disposable inventory and office supplies. Track and monitor expenditures. *Confirm availability of SPs for courses. *Assist with creating examination blueprints in EMS SIMiQ software. *Submit surgical cadaver request forms for surgical skills training courses to the Anatomy Department and monitor the status of specimens. *Obtain certification as a SAGES FLS /FES proctor and administer exams. Maintains testing equipment and supplies for potential test takers. *Schedule and update the EMS system's surgical, robotics, and industry courses. *Provide reception services. *Maximize office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: *Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills. *Demonstrated project management. *Working knowledge of standard applicable computer software and ability to learn additional software as necessary. *Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, and overtime. *Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite. *Ability to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and course participants. Preferred: *Experience with 25 Live software. This position requires a background check. This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
