Department Summary The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create transformational experiences for all HSC students by providing tailored support and fostering holistic development. There are 8 functional units within the Division of Student Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office of Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center. Position Overview This position provides academic counseling and partners with faculty, staff and students to create solutions and find resources for academic success. They will provide crisis intervention to students when difficult situations occur that will affect their academic performance. They will also counsel students regarding educational issues like adjusting to graduate level work loads, study habits and time management. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The person in this role must be able to build strong relationships, maintain strict confidentiality, and exemplify HSC's values-both in action and in real-time conversations. They should be capable of managing multiple projects with varying deadlines in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while providing comprehensive updates. This role also requires the ability to present on various topics both in-person and virtually, supervise direct reports effectively, and evaluate current processes to offer thoughtful suggestions for improvement. Job Duties:
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with occasional evenings or weekends as required for divisional events. Some remote work may be required.
