Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Systems, Systems Engineering, Mechanical or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Agile experience preferred. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for a Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) Engineer - Class of 2025 to join our team in Marion, Virginia. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and produce the state-of-the-art products that support General Dynamics Mission Systems and our clients. The Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) is a three year rotational program typically comprised of six, six month rotations. MLP members will work in all facets of manufacturing as well as have the unique opportunity to explore assignments in engineering, production control, supervision, quality, business development, and an elective rotation. Program members will pursue a company-paid Master's degree (up to $40K), leadership training, as well as GDMS internal Earned Value Management System (EVMS) training - all of which are requirements for graduation from the program. Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) Engineers on our Manufacturing team develop, implement and maintain the methods, operation sequences and processes used in General Dynamics Mission Systems production. This involves the fabrication of composite parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. The employee is also responsible for estimating manufacturing costs, determining project time standards, and recommending the tools and processes that accompany new and existing product lines. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide guidance to fellow engineers, helping them to enhance organizational design concepts and manufacturing techniques.
