Job Description

PCC Airfoils - SMP manufactures military and commercial turbine blades and vanes for aircraft and land-based applications using different materials and super alloys composed primarily of nickel and cobalt to cast the blades and vanes for gas turbine engines. SUMMARY

The main responsibility of this position will be to assist in the review and coordination of all lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement implementation with the facilities engineering group. Utilize project management skills to assist in the preparation of all necessary operational studies/analysis for engineering and 6S projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Perform operational studies and engineering analysis
  • Assist in lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement implementation
  • Conduct and participate in 6S audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identifying and recommending process improvements for specified projects.
  • Analyze processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop 6S solutions.
  • Collect and analyze data related to 6S implementation to track progress and identify areas for further improvement.
  • Assist in other lean projects, including process improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing skills to cut down waste and movement with key operations
  • Taking ownership and responsibility for identified projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and 6S methodology, along with process improvement tools.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel; Microsoft products
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
