Job Description

About Us:

As we continue to drive excellence in our operations, we are looking for a NADCAP Processing Engineer to join our team. This is a key position where you will leverage your extensive expertise in NADCAP-accredited processes to lead efforts in ensuring the highest quality standards across our manufacturing operations.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced NADCAP Processing Engineer with 10-15 years of expertise in aerospace manufacturing and a deep understanding of NADCAP certification processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading complex aerospace processes, ensuring full NADCAP compliance, and driving continuous improvement across multiple engineering disciplines, such as heat treatment, coatings and plating.

In this role, you will take ownership of NADCAP-related processes, guide cross-functional teams, and play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance for critical aerospace systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NADCAP Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, coatings, welding, plating, and other aerospace-specific processes, are fully compliant with NADCAP standards, and oversee preparation for audits.
  • Process Leadership & Optimization: Lead the development, validation, and continuous improvement of processes that align with NADCAP requirements, focusing on enhancing product quality, reducing waste, and improving process efficiency.
  • Audit Management & Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for all NADCAP audits, manage audit preparation, and lead the response to non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem-Solving: Conduct detailed root cause analysis for process failures and deviations, lead the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
  • Mentorship & Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians in NADCAP processes and aerospace standards, sharing technical expertise and fostering a culture of quality and compliance within the team.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with quality assurance, R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure that process designs meet both customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate and up-to-date process documentation, including work instructions, quality reports, and audit records, while ensuring all documentation complies with NADCAP and aerospace standards.
  • Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for process performance, quality, and compliance, driving a culture of ongoing process optimization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, or related field); Master's degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing with a strong background in NADCAP processes such as heat treating, welding, coatings, and plating.
  • Expertise in NADCAP requirements, audit preparation, and experience managing the NADCAP accreditation process across various aerospace processes.
  • Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives, resolve complex issues, and implement corrective actions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and industry regulations.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and leading cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and enhance process performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with a proactive approach to driving results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership, auditors, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NADCAP Auditor Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Expertise in aerospace materials such as titanium, advanced alloys, and composites.
  • Experience with metallurgical testing, failure analysis, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Proficiency in aerospace manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP, MES) and data analysis tools.
