Software Engineer Intern

As a Software Engineer Intern on the Configuration Service team at Docusign, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the systems and services that power our production services. These platforms are critical to enabling scalable, secure, and reliable application services across our engineering organization. You'll work alongside experienced engineers in an agile environment, learning best practices in service management, infrastructure automation, and configuration-as-code. Throughout the internship, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, deepen your understanding of cloud-based systems, and grow your skills.

This position in an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, Software Engineering.

Responsibility

• Assist in maintaining and enhancing our configuration platforms that support deployment and service configuration across engineering teams

• Collaborate with team members to improve developer experience through tooling and integrations

• Contribute to the development of our configuration services and APIs

• Help write and maintain documentation for configuration tools, usage guidelines, and onboarding materials

• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and team stand-ups as part of an agile development environment

• Work with senior engineers to identify and implement improvements to system reliability, scalability, and maintainability

• Support integration of configuration services with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure platforms

• Monitor system health and assist in triaging and resolving platform issues or performance bottlenecks

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

Basic

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript

Preferred

• Familiarity with data structures and algorithms
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and/or software development principles
• Exposure to version control systems, especially Git

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

Washington, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $38.00/hour - $44.00/hour
