Nurse Manager - E4 Accelerated Access Unit

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by: providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long and short term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. The Nurse Manager is accountable to the Vice President & ACNE, Patient Care Services.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

• A valid California Registered Nurse License
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing
• Master's degree in Nursing or other related field
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Meets specialty specific clinical competencies for assigned area
• Working knowledge of applicable Standards of Practice
• Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area
• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues.
• Full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
• Maintains flexible scheduling as required by workload and departmental needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification of field of practice preferred (if appropriate)

Department Overview

The East 4 AAU is a 34-bed adult med/surg unit. Patients are a combination admission of medical and surgical care that include telemetry. We are also the home unit for the Cystic Fibrosis and Sickle Cell Disease management.
