The Quality Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership, advanced training, and instructions on quality measurement systems and procedures for quality area personnel in the manufacturing process. The Quality Manager will support the Technical Group with product design responsibility. Along with this, the position will be responsible for the upkeep and optimization of our quality laboratory functions and measurement equipment. The role will also work extensively with production to ensure compliance with customer driven certification requirements for measurement system analysis and documentation.

How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Support plant safety program by including safety activities in all aspects of the job. Take active or lead role in safety activities such as safety teams, incident investigations, and/or positive safety contacts.
  • Provide advanced training and instruction to operators within the quality area, including responsibility for area safety.
  • Provide ongoing support to satisfy APQP requirements, PPAP testing, and product specification design reviews.
  • Work closely with production to maintain current and accurate control plan and PFMEA documentation.
  • Active participation in and support of the MOC process.
  • Ensure the measurement equipment verification and calibration system is maintained.
  • Implement advanced data review and analysis process using SQL database to support daily/weekly metrics reviews, defect cost analysis, and identification of special causes that negatively affect process capability.
  • Achieve and maintain certification for IATF/ISO 16949.
  • Provide on-call support for 24/7 operation as required.

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum: BS degree in technical field of study.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality lab management/leadership
  • Proficient with Minitab statistical software, SAP software preferred
  • Previous experience directing the workforce including evaluating performance and coaching for improvement a plus.
  • Technical skills, writing skills, communication skills including leading group meetings, training skills, multi-tasking, and use of problem-solving tools.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment structured under an automotive (preferred) or aerospace quality system management system (for example TS16949 or IATF 16949).
  • Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma certification (green belt or higher) is preferred.
  • Role is eligible for relocation assistance.
