Part-Time Receptionist/Office Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

Seaboard Corporation, a Fortune 500 diversified and vertically integrated agribusiness and ocean transportation company, currently has an opening for a Receptionist/Office Assistant. As the Receptionist/Office Assistant you will support the reception desk and building management functions, in addition to other duties as described below. This is a part-time position working 20-24 hours per week (schedule TBD) and is located in the Merriam, Kansas, office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support reception desk by assisting employees/visitors and handling phone calls.
  • Serve as primary contact for breakroom and micro-market vending services.
  • Assist with dock deliveries, logging packages, etc.
  • Support coordination of preventative and corrective building maintenance services.
  • Assist with building access management and security system.
  • Coordinate building emergency procedures and related training.
  • Oversee fitness room, mother's room, and locker rooms.
  • Support execution of employee events and activities.
  • Process and oversee workspace/equipment requests.
  • Crosstrain to cover duties of the primary Receptionist and the Building Manager as needed.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in an office environment.



OTHER QUALIFICATIONS



  • High level of professionalism with strong phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to produce quality work in an efficient manner.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and the ability to quickly learn various computer program concepts and functionality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to draft concise and well-constructed building-wide emails and other correspondence.
  • Requires a consistent and strong work ethic.
  • Must have a high regard for confidentiality and discretion.

Includes a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
