Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a SIOP Process Excellence Leader, to be based out of one of our US locations. Reporting to the Vice President, Atkore Business System, this person will provide strategic and process leadership for how Atkore conducts SIOP: work to understand "best practice" both inside Atkore and in benchmark companies, drive continues improvement efforts, ensure consistent roles and responsibilities, and actively partner with SBUs and functions on execution.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations or equivalent with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience with heavy manufacturing processes and industrial products industry.

What you'll do:



  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of the Atkore SIOP process, team, and activities to drive growth, efficiency, and profitability across Atkore SBUs
  • Chair the Executive SIOP review and ensure compliance of the overall process
  • Apply a data-driven, continuous improvement mindset to evaluate the effectiveness of the process and adapt, as needed, to drive improvement and change
  • Benchmark external "best practices"
  • Establish metrics that tell us if the process is working or not
  • Work to choose the right technical tools to support our process: JDE modules and options, AI, demand planning packages, etc.
  • Share strategic guidance and cross-SBU considerations for SIOP team
  • Champion the recurring process of ABC analysis and the development and implementation of stocking strategies
  • Partner with SBU's and Sales to improve Demand Planning



    What you'll bring:



    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations, or equivalent. MBA preferred


      • Breadth of experience required for this position would normally be acquired over a successful career of 10+ years related experience in demand planning, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, materials management, logistics and operations.


    • Preferred in-depth understanding and 5-10+ experience with heavy manufacturing processes and industrial products industry
    • Preferred prior experience leading a sales and operations team and/or process (e.g., SIOP, S&OP, IBP, etc.)
    • Leadership qualities that include excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven abilities in team building, influencing (up, across, down), problem solving, decision making and relationship building
    • Knowledge and experience with JD Edwards, MRP planning, forecasting systems, inventory optimization software, supply chain design, and lean supply chain methods
    • Experience with lean principles, continuous improvement, MTS vs MTO analysis, variable order fulfillment models, and multi echelon inventory optimization
    • Demonstrated success in strategy development, execution, and overall change management
    • Strong project management skills, data-driven, results oriented, accountable for results
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate at a tactical and strategic level
    • Ability to travel up to 20%.



    Within 3 months, you'll:



    • Complete your Atkore immersion program
    • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
    • Gain an understanding of your team and key contacts
    • Evaluate previous SIOP cycle performance as an extension of current cycle considerations



    Within 6 months, you'll:



    • Drive to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence
    • Lead an engaged relationship with your team and key contacts
    • Partner with HR and leadership on best org design, and drive consistency in roles & responsibilities across Atkore.
    • Outline standard work for the SIOP teams to:


      • Analytically set product line/item specific inventory targets for supply chain based upon defined service levels
      • Calculate the ROIC for each item and provide to business leaders to aid in defining the MTS and MTO strategy for every item
      • Determine root causes of performance variances and lead resolution process




    Within 12 months, you'll:



    • Be a leader within an efficient team that supports Atkore's strategy.
    • Understand the information needs of the Sourcing and Procurement functions and provides the needed demand signal in the form of a consensus demand plan to enable demand driven execution
    • Implement processes and mechanisms that create effective communication and coordination between sales, operations, and other departments in monthly SIOP process
    • Rollout methodologies to define and evaluate monthly scenarios and provide essential inputs into the SIOP plan for execution

      As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $112,240 - $154,330 . Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
