Assistant Director, Banner SaaS Stakeholder Enablement

Requirements

The Assistant Director, Banner SaaS Stakeholder Enablement within UIS will serve as a liaison, technical support, and testing lead for several campus wide units in Banner SaaS with a primary focus on supporting the Office of Student Financial Services (OSFS) and the intersection of OSFS and Revenue and Receivables.This role will drive critical updates, support GU testing efforts, and interface with Ellucian to make sure projects and processes adhere to critical deadlines. The incumbent will support the Director of SIS in following up on Action Line Tickets to resolution and coordinating Ellucian leads in working sessions as needed. They work within and across teams to support the acquisition of new skills and areas of expertise in a dynamic work environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Oversee weekly cadences with both the AR and OSFS teams.
  • Manage SIS weekly meetings to flag Banner SaaS issues and track them through Action Line to resolution.
  • Provide necessary training for creation and maintenance of popsels for testing, serving as a lead in weekly testing sessions.
  • Oversee the ongoing review of views that are needed in Insights.
  • Provide expert guidance of needed rules in Banner SaaS for posting Financial Aid awards, posting Student Billing and managing pre-testing for upcoming releases and security patching.
  • Coordinate with the Ellucian CSM team to ensure GU Stakeholder needs are being met in a timely manner.


Work Interactions

The work performed by the Assistant Director of SaaS Stakeholder Enablement will provide support to both the Office of Student Financial Services and Revenue and Receivables teams continuing to promote effective changes and problem solving in our new student cloud based system, providing technical and front-end user guidance and training. This role will be a representative to external resources that are looking to Georgetown University to effectively shape and mold Banner SaaS for our partner institutions to continue our mission of keeping Georgetown University at the forefront of technology advancements of our student system.This role will report to the Director of Student Information Systems within University Information Services (UIS) and is critical to ongoing support for the Revenue and Receivables and Office of Student Financial Services as continued enhancements of Banner SaaS require deep subject matter experts that understand both Georgetown business process and SaaS capabilities to optimize the system for the best performance for our stakeholders. This position requires ability to rapidly adapt to changing business requirements and to efficiently acquire and utilize new skills in response to such change.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Masters Degree required in relevant field
  • 5-8 years work experience in Financial Aid required, with an understanding of SQL rules and the conversion to Insights/Popsel process
  • 3-5 years work experience with Revenue and Receivables understanding Banner SaaS functionality and institutional policy and procedure
  • Ability to develop, test, and track Banner releases and the corresponding testing efforts
  • Ability to collaborate with DBAs, Ellucian Developers, and IT Managers to identify and resolve Banner Financial Aid defects and to implement new applications and processes
  • Ability to train end-users on best Banner system uses and functionality in both OSFS and Revenue and Receivables functions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively with knowledge of complex accounting systems with strong auditing, accounting, and analytical skills; close attention to details
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents with proficiency in end user applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Cognos, Banner, Insights, ODS, DataLake and Data Connect Pipelines)
  • Strong understanding of Federal regulations and requirements related to the Department of Education
  • Ability to build and use effective working relationships within their own department and across line, functional, and geographic reporting lines with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with the Banner student information system will be valued, as well as experience and familiarity with the major components of student systems and business functions including financial aid, student billing, etc
  • Track record of success managing IT projects from an enterprise governance perspective with key stakeholders with a proven ability to excel working in a complex, decentralized, consensus-driven environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective working collaborations and partnerships with executive stakeholders across the user community
  • Highly effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with excellent listening and problem-solving skills with appreciation for perspectives of others together with the ability to resolve conflicts

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$66,783.00 - $126,720.23

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
