Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant within the Radiation Oncology-Cancer Biology Department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator or designee, the Temporary Research Assistant will assist in research on the lab grant deliverables. The Temporary Research Assistant will also review, provide quality control, and analyze study data.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Works under the direction of the PI or his/her designee. Responsible for executing laboratory tasks as outlined by the Principal Investigator or a senior member of laboratory team.
- Performs functions as directed for experiments that are proposed in the grant, under the direction of the Principal Investigator and other designated lab members.
- Maintains department database on a computer. Candidate must have competent computer skills and be able to utilize equipment and technology in support of the assigned project(s).
- Must possess effective oral and written communication skills and ability to summarize scientific research process and communicate project findings.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively is also essential.
- Effective oral and communication skills.
- Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Interaction with RUTGERS, RWJMS, CINJ, and RWJUH management, administrative, clinical and laboratory staff.
