The Director, Cybersecurity Threat Management & Operations is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and execution of the organization's cybersecurity operations, and specifically threat management domain. This role oversees the management of programs that protect the organization from cyber threats and ensure the resilience of critical systems and data, while balancing frictionless security outcomes. The successful candidate will lead a team of security professionals, oversee security operations, threat management, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to align cybersecurity operations with business and organizational goals, as well as regulatory requirements. - Develop and implement the organization's cybersecurity operations strategy to identify, manage and manage current and emerging threats
- Drive continuous improvement in security operations, aligning with industry standards and best practices
- Provide executive-level reporting on cybersecurity risks, trends, and performance metrics
- Lead and manage the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure sufficient monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents
- Leverage cybersecurity tools and technologies for threat detection, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management
- Ensure the timely and effective investigation of security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation
- Ensure the secure configuration and management of cloud and on-premise environments
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
- Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks
- Maintain incident response plans and conduct regular tabletop exercises
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cybersecurity operations team
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team
- Develop training programs to enhance team skills and awareness of emerging threats
- Threat Intelligence and Mitigation:
- Monitor global threat landscapes to anticipate and prepare for emerging risks
- Implement threat hunting programs and ensure integration of threat intelligence into operational workflows
- Partner with external stakeholders, including law enforcement and industry peers, for intelligence sharing
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Partner with IT, legal, compliance, and other departments to align cybersecurity with organizational goals
- Act as a key advisor to executive leadership on cybersecurity operations and strategies.
- Communicate complex cybersecurity concepts in a clear and actionable manner

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity
- 5+ years of people leadership experience
- In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST CSF, CIS, and MITRE ATT&CK
- Proven experience with security incident detection, response, and remediation
- Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, and endpoint protection technologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, projects, and budgets effectively
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Demonstrated success in commercial HVAC and controls. Direct experience supporting customer requirements, channel, dealers, and distributors is a plus
- Thought Leadership: Active participation in industry boards, standards committees, panels, and trade organizations; along with contributions through publications, presentations, and thought leadership within the software development community
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC.
- Experience with cloud-native security tools
- Familiarity with security automation

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $142,600 - $243,000 (+ 30-35% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
