Overview

As part of the Americas Field Operations, the Food and Chemical Materials Market Development Manager will be responsible and accountable for the development and execution of a business plan that achieves the Americas-wide budget for Waters' food and chemical materials business. This includes all of Waters products, system solutions and application solutions relevant to the food and chemical materials market segments.

Through understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics, the individual will develop and support the marketing strategies within Americas' while working with corporate marketing to implement and innovate business development plans.



Responsibilities

    Design and Implement Tactical Plan: Develop and successfully conduct a business plan that is aligned with the corporate strategy to deliver the Americas revenue goal for the food and chemical materials markets. This includes sales strategies, as well as tactics to promote awareness of Waters' value propositions in these areas (including marketing communications, seminars, user meetings, customer visits, representation at tradeshows, internal training, etc.).
  • Strategic Sales Development: Providing guidance and support to the Waters sales organization with the development and implementation of their regional business plan. Ensure that these business plans are aligned with Waters' overall food and chemical materials business goals and objectives.
  • Business Reporting: Maintaining appropriate records of food and chemical materials orders to measure achievement of budgeted goal. Communicating business metrics to senior and executive management teams.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Spotting trends in the food and chemical materials markets and advocating for the development of innovative products to better meet the customer needs to help identify potential business opportunities for Waters. Fully understand, maintain, and report on driven activities and positioning.
  • Supporting Sales Teams: Maintaining a regular dialogue with and assisting the sales teams. This includes developing and supporting local tactical promotions, educating field teams on food and chemical materials testing offerings and value proposition. Undertake domestic and overseas travel in support of the Americas Field Marketing and Sales organization.
  • Contribute to Strategic Business Plan: Collaborate with business segment teams and other geographies to develop our annual global strategic business plan for the food and chemical materials markets.
  • Collaborations and KOL Development: Identify and build collaborative partnerships with key scientists and KOLs within America's food and chemical materials markets. Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing through the development of scientific networks.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Materials Science
  • 5 years experience in sales and/or marketing, experience in the food or chemical materials testing market
  • Experience and understanding of chromatographic (LC and GC) and mass spectrometric techniques relevant to food and chemical materials testing market
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business plans
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, tackle problems creatively
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet Waters core values
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all corporate departments
  • Self-motivated with the ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
