DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Technician, you will be tasked with a wide range of clerical and accounting duties involving the application of bookkeeping principles and procedures by recording, reviewing, and processing financial records for accuracy, quality, and conformance to accounting standards. This is an advanced bookkeeping position that requires a thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices, performance of accurate and detailed arithmetical calculations, as well as established fiscal methods, polices, and regulations. You will have the opportunity to correspond with providers to discuss invoice issues that do not meet established procedures. Responsibilities include:
- Processing and entering all expenses, receipts, monthly reconciliations, budget entry requests, and cost transfers
- Recording and reviewing financial records and documentation
- Analyzing records
- Coding invoices
- Completing forms and assigning proper accounting strings to services
- Providing monthly accruals for unpaid invoices
- Allocating and redistributing costs within the financial accounting systems
- Assisting with month end, quarterly, and year-end accounting closings
- Attending meetings
- Participating in group projects

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to one day per week, upon successful completion of a probationary period with a minimum of 3 months of continuous, regular employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Youngwood.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
- Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
- One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County. If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
